How to tell the world you are great on your CV
How to tell the world you are great on your CVYou must use descriptive words to tell your prospective employer how great you are. The trouble is that they are keen judges of insincerity on a CV, due to the fact that they will read a lot of them in their career. This means that if you describe yourself with too many descriptive words, then you will come across as insincere. On the other hand you need to fit in as many good qualities as possible. On the third hand (get a friend around to lend a hand) you need to keep your resume short, concise and to the point.Your answer is to triple compliment (describe) yourself in single sentences. Give three of your qualities within one sentence.ExampleI am honest, hard-working and punctual. That example is simple, short and sweet. It is ideal for a CV. It is the natural conclusion when cutting down your word count to make it easier to read.Better exampleWhilst working for Tommys Pies, I learnt how to be responsible, practical and creative. In this example, it shows how you can relate your compliment cluster to various parts of your CV. They do not all have to happen in the beginning or the about me section. An even better exampleIn my current role, I go out of my way to be industrious and organized, and through the years have taught myself to be independent, resourceful and a great self starter. This is a five compliment whammy, starting with two early on and then ending with three. If you are creating your CV, it should be short but condensed with information about you. This is a great way of including many of your qualities into one statement. If you arrange the sentence structure in the same way that the sentences are arranged in the examples, then it will flow better and it will not sound boastful or contrived.Another good exampleIf you really want a high quality, well written and concise resume, then condense your complimentary statements as aptly and professionally as this one.
